Just returned from 2 wks (10 days Ixtapa 4 days Zihua), we were out and about walking and taking the bus during the day and taxis in the evening - saw nothing which would concern other than tourism is definitely down. Local people friendly and helpful as usual and did not seemed distressed - agreed that there were some areas to avoid (just like in any city of the world).
We had a wonderful vacation and wished we could have stayed longer. Love the people and the area!
