I imagine it's as much for himself as for visitors.
I would just add to be careful not to confuse uvas del mar (seagrapes) with manzanillo (manchineel). They can look similar to the untrained eye, but the manzanillo is very toxic, and if you sit under one during the rain it can cause you a world of hurt.
